IHG continues to expand in Russia: The first Holiday Inn Express hotel opens in St Petersburg
International hotel operator InterContinental Hotels Group has opened its first Holiday Inn Express® hotel in St Petersburg. This is the fourth Holiday Inn Express® hotel to open in Russia this year.

Legendary Hard Rock Cafe is opened in St Petersburg
A new branch of the legendary international Hard Rock Cafe chain opened in St Petersburg on 14 June. The cafe, designed to seat 200 in a 500 square metre premises, is located in the historical city centre on 62 Sadovaya Street not far from the Mariinsky Theatre and Saint Isaac’s Cathedral. An exclusive event, the Hard Hat Tour, was held to mark the opening and people were invited to be the first guest at the cafe.

The MEININGER Group has opened a hotel in St Petersburg
Since 28th of May the MEININGER group operates its first hotel in Russia. The MEININGER Hotel St. Petersburg Nikolsky offers a total of 158 rooms and is located in the heart of St. Petersburg in the former Nikolsky market halls on Sadovaya Street.

«Nikolskie Ryady» to preserve its historic colour
The restoration works of a historic Nikolskie Ryady building, situated in the heart of St. Petersburg, is in full swing. The completion of works is planned for Summer 2018 when a new multifunctional hotel complex including a three-star Holiday Inn Express hotel and a hostel operated by Meininger Hotels will be opened.

MEININGER Hotels and VIYM announce their first partnership in Russia
MEININGER Hotels, Europe’s leading hotel group, and private equity firm VIYM, which specialises in growth capital and hospitality investments across Russia, CIS and Europe, have today announced the signing of a management agreement. The resulting project will see Germany’s MEININGER Hotels open their first ever hotel-hostel hybrid in Russia, as part of VIYM’s Nikolskiye Ryady development in Saint Petersburg.

The restoration conceptual design plan has been developed and approved
Together with the Rosokhrankultura (Russian Cultural Heritage Protection Service) and KGIOP (Committee on State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Landmarks) a restoration conceptual design plan was developed and approved to adapt the building to a modern use.

An exhibition of works created by the Stieglitz Academy of Art and Industry students and dedicated to one of the city’s architectural objects - “Nikolskie Riady” - is being held in Saint-Petersburg.
