A new branch of the legendary international Hard Rock Cafe chain opened in St Petersburg on 14 June. The cafe, designed to seat 200 in a 500 square metre premises, is located in the historical city centre on 62 Sadovaya Street not far from the Mariinsky Theatre and Saint Isaac’s Cathedral. The Hard Rock Cafe St Petersburg is the part of the Nikolskie Ryady project, which involves the restoration and renovation of buildings that formed part of the historic Nikolsky Market site, and their further development for use as a multifunctional complex. VIYM, which provides private equity services to the hospitality sector and to fast-growing small and medium-sized companies in the Russian, CIS and European Markets, acted as project consultant.
The interior design combines elements of the historical building with the modern style inherent to the chain’s visual identity. The cafe's distinctive design appeals to visitors due to the striking use of colours and space, creating this unique environment. Thanks to the large stage and state-of-the-art performance equipment, the Hard Rock Cafe can host a wide range of events in different musical styles. The branch also has a merchandise store offering souvenirs branded with the legendary Hard Rock Cafe logo.
For music fans in the city, the Hard Rock Cafe has instruments and stage outfits from the following music legends on display: Elton John, Oasis, Sting, Tom Petty, Lenny Kravitz, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry, Cher, INXS, Metallica, Bob Dylan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Dylan, Zedd GERMAN, Uriah Heep, ZZ Top, Rammstein. Adding local flavor, the St Petersburg Hard Rock Cafe's collection also includes memorabilia from Russian performers Sergey Shnurov and Alexander Rosenbaum.
The Hard Rock Cafe menu includes its legendary burgers, a selection of classic dishes, and a comprehensive wine and cocktail list.
The building's history, its convenient location and the unique atmosphere makes the Hard Rock Cafe unlike any other rock-themed bar in the world, and it is quickly becoming one of St Petersburg's key destinations for locals and visitors to the city alike.

Since 28th of May the MEININGER group operates its first hotel in Russia. The MEININGER Hotel St. Petersburg Nikolsky offers a total of 158 rooms and is located in the heart of St. Petersburg in the former Nikolsky market halls on Sadovaya Street.

«Nikolskie Ryady» to preserve its historic colour
The restoration works of a historic Nikolskie Ryady building, situated in the heart of St. Petersburg, is in full swing. The completion of works is planned for Summer 2018 when a new multifunctional hotel complex including a three-star Holiday Inn Express hotel and a hostel operated by Meininger Hotels will be opened.

MEININGER Hotels and VIYM announce their first partnership in Russia
MEININGER Hotels, Europe’s leading hotel group, and private equity firm VIYM, which specialises in growth capital and hospitality investments across Russia, CIS and Europe, have today announced the signing of a management agreement. The resulting project will see Germany’s MEININGER Hotels open their first ever hotel-hostel hybrid in Russia, as part of VIYM’s Nikolskiye Ryady development in Saint Petersburg.
